Legacy Conference

Zion Dominion Global Ministries, 895 North Forest Road, Amherst, will host "Legacy Conference 2007: Land of Giants" each evening at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Aug. 5.

Day services will be offered 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Speakers include Bishop Noel Jones, Apostle Richard Henton, Rita Womack and Roderick L. Hennings, senior pastor.


Rovics leads crusade

A one-night crusade will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday in Kleinhans Music Hall, featuring Pastor Stephen L. Rovics, a former Buffalo minister who now heads a church in Beaver Dam, Wisc.

Rovics founded Maranatha Baptist Church in 1979, before leaving Buffalo and heading to Wisconsin, where he started Cornerstone Baptist Church in 1982. The church has missions in the Philippines and in India.


Outdoor Mass set

St. Agatha and St. Ambrose parishes will host a Mass at 7 p.m. Aug. 15 in Heacock Park at Abbott Road and McKinley and Southside parkways in South Buffalo.

The date is the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, considered a holy day of obligation in the Catholic Church. An ice cream social will follow. In case of rain, the Mass will move inside St. Agatha Church at 65 Abbott Road.


St. Columban retreats

The St. Columban Center, 6892 Lakeshore Road, Derby, will offer two separate retreats, both running Aug. 12-18.

The first, "Who Are You? What Am I?" is directed at women religious and features retreat director Sister Kathleen Osbelt, president and founder of Francis House, two homes for the terminally ill. Cost is $400. Sister M. Elizabeth Mackowiak will lead a Francisan Directed Retreat, focusing on Scripture and the writings and prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. Cost is $425.
