>$6,400 grant to help in upgrading museum

LEWISTON -- The Historic Lewiston Museum will receive a $6,400 grant to help finance planned energy efficiency. The grant money will be administered by the New York Power Authority.

"The Lewiston Museum building has a very long history in the Lewiston community, and this grant will allow for upgrades that will serve the site long into the future," State Sen. George D. Maziarz, R-Newfane said in announcing the grant.

The funds will be used to upgrade the heating system, replace lighting, install insulation and replace single pane windows with double pane windows.

The grant was provided by Petroleum Overcharge Restitution funds.

The Lewiston Museum originally housed St. Paul's Episcopal Church in 1835 and was purchased by the nonprofit Historical Association of Lewiston in 1974.
