A Perrysburg man convicted of vehicular manslaughter last year faces up to 12 years in prison following sentencing in Cattaraugus County Court on Monday.
Brandon Cooper, 35, was sentenced by Judge Larry M. Himelein to four to 12 years behind bars for his involvement in a car accident that killed John P. Martin.
The accident occurred at noontime June 24, 2006, in Perrysburg, when Cooper rear-ended Martin's vehicle, sending it crashing into a tree, according to District Attorney Edward M. Sharkey.
Also in County Court:
*Adam R. Pusateri, 21, of Buffalo, was sentenced to a year in jail after being convicted of second-degree attempted assault. He injured another person Oct. 20 in the Town of Great Valley.
*Richard E. Childs, 21, of Olean, was sentenced to 2 1/3 to seven years in prison for his guilty plea to a probation violation. The violation is related to a June 12, 2006, burglary conviction.
*Hayden A. Haynes, 24, of Buffalo, was sentenced to five years' probation, including community service, and fined $2,000 for his conviction of first-degree aggravated unlicensed vehicle operation. Hayes was driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.23 percent -- nearly three times the legal limit -- and with a suspended license, when arrested July 25, 2004, in the Town of Coldspring.
*Joseph Sciarrino, 47, of Delevan, pleaded guilty to driving drunk Feb. 16 in the Town of Franklinville. He will be sentenced Oct. 1.
*Zachery Vandenberg, 20, of Olean, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted burglary. The crime occurred Aug. 14 in the Village of Allegany.
He will be sentenced Oct. 1.
