The Queen City Football Club of Buffalo Blues, a semi-professional soccer team in its first-year of operation, advanced to the National Premiere Soccer League national championship final four Sunday with a 1-0 win over the Atlantic City Diablos in the NPSL Northeast Conference title match played at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester.

Mike Bobbi scored on a header in the 85th minute to help the team consisting of current and former collegiate players from small Division I, II and III schools advance to the national semifinals Friday at 9 p.m. in San Diego against the Sonoma Sol. The Blues are 7-2-1.


BASKETBALL: Openings remain for the second session of the Canisius College boys basketball camp, which starts Monday and runs through Aug. 3 in the Koessler Center. The camp is for boys ages 7-17. Steal the Show Camps and Clinics is having a girls-only camp starting Monday and running through Aug. 3 at the Amherst Pepsi Center. The camp is for girls ages 6-16 and the focus will be on skating, stick handling, passing and shooting. The camp offers three hours of ice daily as well as video analysis and dryland training.
