Our 14-year-old daughter is attending an academic program on the West Coast this summer. We have heard some really good things about the "unaccompanied minor" program for the airline on which she will be flying.
Allison is not too concerned about our daughter doing this.
I -- playing the role of overprotective dad -- have some reservations, although I clearly remember being pretty laid-back about solo travel back when I was in high school. Of course, the "flying machines," as we called them in those days, were still a novelty.
This might be opening a can of worms that I don't want to open, but have any of our readers let their under-16 kids fly unaccompanied, and how did they do?
