Bisons left-hander Aaron Laffey, who has won seven straight decisions, was pulled from the opening game of today's doubleheader against Syracuse with the score tied at 1-1 in the top of the third. Laffey wasn't hurt and wasn't in a huge jam, although there were two on and two out.
The tell-tale sign about what was going on was the way manager Torey Lovullo shook Laffey's hand and tapped him on the back at the mound, and the way his teammates greeted him with high-fives as he reached the dugout steps.
Official word won't come until after today's twinbill is completed but it looks like Laffey is getting his first callup to the big leagues to help out the Cleveland Indians' bullpen. While that would be a blow to the Herd, it's well-deserved for Laffey -- who is 23-8 over the last two years at three levels of the Cleveland chain.
