A memorial service for Gary A. Kelso, a laborer for a tree-removal service, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Drive, Amherst.
Mr. Kelso, of Buffalo, died Tuesday after he was struck by a car on Union Road in West Seneca. He was 53.
Born in Buffalo, he was a 1973 graduate of Kensington High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving stateside.
His interest in outdoor activities led him to work in the tree-removal business, in which he was employed for more than 30 years.
Mr. Kelso had worked for Weimer Tree Service, and, for the past seven years, for Arbor Tech Tree Service.
Mr. Kelso enjoyed many athletic activities, including baseball, basketball and bowling. He also was an avid fan of the the New York Yankees, the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres.
He is survived by a daughter, Erin Kelso Pavillion; his father, Albert; and two sisters, Mary Battista and Susan Cracchiola.
