Slumping Herd opens homestand

After a disastrous 2-6 road trip that saw them slip from a 2 1/2-game lead in the International League North to a 2 1/2-game deficit, the Buffalo Bisons are back in Dunn Tire Park tonight to open a nine-game homestand against the Syracuse Chiefs.

The Herd lost the last six games of the trip -- getting outscored, 53-25 -- and is trying to avoid its first seven-game losing streak since May, 2004. Jeremy Sowers (0-4, 5.82) is tonight's starter and his struggles since returning to Triple-A mirror that of the team.

Here's tonight's starting lineup:

  • Hector Luna, ss
  • Joe Inglett, lf
  • Luis Rivas, 2b
  • Ryan Mulhern, 1b
  • Jason Cooper, dh
  • Andy Marte, 3b
  • Yamid Haad, c
  • Brad Snyder, rf
  • Jonathan Van Every, cf
