Synacor, a Buffalo technology company focused on the provision of private label home pages, premium content packages and an e-mail collaboration suite for broadband service providers, appointed Marc Frank database administrator, Sherrad Patterson Network Operations Center operator and Amanda Potter account manager. Frank previously was a network operations administrator with Account Solutions Group. Patterson previously was production supervisor at Adecco Engineering and Technical Services. Potter previously was senior manager of strategic alliance at EarthLink and holds both bachelor's and MBA degrees from Wichita State University.

Western New York Federal Credit Union Chief Executive Officer Marie Betti was recently elected to a four-year term as a director for the New York State Credit Union League and secretary for one year. Betti is the Buffalo Chapter president for the 80 credit unions who are members of the NYS Credit Union League.

The Pharmacists Society of the State of New York honored Dennis C. Galluzzo with the 2007 Bowl of Hygeia Award for outstanding community service. Galluzzo is the executive director of the Pharmacists Association of Western New York and owner and supervising pharmacist of Family Medical Pharmacy. The award honors pharmacists who possess outstanding records of civic leadership in their communities.

The Employee Relations Association of WNY named James D. Donathen to its board of directors for a one-year term. Donathen is a partner with Phillips Lytle.
