Mesi set for fight in Utah

Joe Mesi's opponent for his July 27 bout in Chester, W. Va., still has not been announced, but the Town of Tonawanda heavyweight knows he will have his hands full when he fights just three weeks later.

Mesi, (35-0, 28 KOs) will go against Sherman "Tank" Williams (33-10-2, 19 KOs) in a 10-rounder Aug. 18 in Sandy, Utah. Williams will be Mesi's most dangerous opponent since his reinstatement following a two-year medical layoff for brain bleeds.

Williams has won eight straight fights against mostly non-descript competition. His last loss was in March 2005 to Ruslan Chagaev, who has since won the WBA heavyweight title.

In the main event, Heavyweight David "Tua Man" Tua continues his climb back into contention in the heavyweight division as he takes on Saul Montana in a 10-rounder. Tua (47-3-1, 40 KOs) is known for his left hook.
