Edward J. Goergens, ran outdoor-gear company Sept. 3, 1937 -- July 11, 2007

Edward J. Goergens of Lockport, an outdoorsman, died Wednesday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. He was 69.

Born in North Tonawanda, Mr. Goergens was a Vietnam-era veteran of the Army.

He worked approximately 15 years in marketing above-ground swimming pools for Sparco Pool Corp. More recently, he had been selling hunting and pool items as the owner of Diamond T Outfitters in Lockport.

Mr. Goergens enjoyed hunting. He also was involved in an archery program for children.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Annette Smith.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, 6864 Campbell Blvd.
