Defending Big East Tournament champion and Final Four participant Georgetown is one of three home-and-home opponents for Syracuse as the conference has announced its new schedule rotation for the 2007-08 season. For the first time since Cincinnati, DePaul, Louisville and Marquette were added to form a 16-team league, each school will play an 18-game league slate by meeting three opponents twice and the other 12 once. Dates, times and TV assignments will be announced in September.
Paul Harris, Jonny Flynn & Co. will also go home and home with Villanova and South Florida. Other conference foes coming to the Carrier Dome are Connecticut, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Providence, Rutgers and St. John's. Syracuse's other road trips will be to Cincinnati, DePaul, Louisville, Notre Dame, Seton Hall and West Virginia.
Flynn is playing for the Team USA Under-19 squad in Serbia and had a team-high seven assists in Thursday's 118-56 rout of Mali.
Four Syracuse players are in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas Seneca product Damone Brown is playing for Orlando, recent grads Demetris Nichols and Darryl Watkins are playing for the New York Knicks and Sacramento, respectively, while guard Gerry McNamara is playing for Philadelphia.
