Suitcase, shopping bag stolen at gunpoint
NIAGARA FALLS -- An 18-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint at about 10:14 a.m. Wednesday as he walked along 22nd Street, police said.
The victim was carrying a suitcase and a plastic shopping bag when he was accosted by a man who put a gun to his back and told him, "Keep moving."
The robber, wearing a black ski mask and hoodie, took the suitcase and the bag, filled with clothing, and fled north toward Ontario Avenue. The items were valued at $100, police said.
Man dragged by car in attempted robbery
NIAGARA FALLS -- A 24-year-old Niagara Falls man was dragged across a shopping plaza parking lot late Tuesday after grabbing onto the car during an attempted robbery, police said.
The victim suffered "road rash" to his lower back and other minor injuries after being dragged a couple hundred yards, police said. He refused treatment at the scene.
Investigators said the victim, who may have been robbed during a drug deal, made arrangements to purchase marijuana from a man in the Tops Market parking lot on Niagara Falls Boulevard, police said. However, an unknown man and woman showed up at a prearranged location just before midnight.
The victim was showing the two prescription painkillers when the man tried to grab the pills from him, police said. The victim, however, wouldn't let go, and the man drove to the nearby Target parking lot with the victim being dragged as the driver repeatedly punched him until he let go, police said.
Police said the victim lost 99 pills.
