Russel Savage, owner of Nature's Way Environmental Consultants and Contractors in Alden, died at his home Saturday. He was 51.
Mr. Savage attended Alden High School and Auburn Community College. He lived briefly in New Jersey before returning to Alden.
In 1989, he founded Nature's Way Environmental Consultants and Contractors, a company with offices in Alden and Syracuse that specializes in soil testing, remediation of polluted sites and removal and installation of underground storage tanks. He was also a member of the Alden Town Planning Board.
An avid outdoorsman and pilot, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends on his charter fishing boat in Wilson Harbor.
Surviving are his wife, the former JoAnne Geary; two sons, Russel and Thomas; two daughters, Lindsay and Nicole; his parents, Violet and Ronald; a brother, Rick; and two sisters, Dixie Lilleck and Brenda.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Wilson Boat House Restaurant in Wilson Harbor.
