ATV rider killed in apparent crash

LITTLE VALLEY -- A 57-year-old man was killed in an ATV accident in the woods behind his residence Sunday, Cattaraugus County sheriff's officials reported today.

William R. Loehr was pronounced dead from his injuries after he was found at the scene, on Broadway Road in the Town of Persia.

Loehr had left his residence at about noon, and sheriff's deputies were called to the scene at about 6 p.m., after he was long overdue to return home.


Two from Erie County arrested in Silver Creek

SILVER CREEK -- Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies arrested three Erie County residents while investigating complaints on Iola Drive in Sunset Bay at about 8 p.m. Sunday.

Joshua D. Puerner, 21, of Amherst, and Conor J. Ascomb, 23, of the Town of Tonawanda, were charged with having open containers of alcoholic beverages after officers saw them standing in a public place with the drinks. Christopher T. Celotto, 22, of West Seneca, was charged with marijuana possession. All were issued appearance tickets.


'Wanted' list grows in Chautauqua County

MAYVILLE -- One new name has been added to the Chautauqua County Wanted List.

Charles Snyder, 23, of East Fourth Street, Jamestown, is wanted on charges of violating probation on a criminal sexual act charge.
