Joseph E. Joynt, insurance claims adjustor, photographer Oct. 10, 1933 -- June 17, 2007

Joseph Edward Joynt, a former insurance claims adjustor, died June 17 in his home in Orlando, Fla. He was 73.

Mr. Joynt grew up in Lackawanna and could often be found in the family-owned Joynt's Restaurant on South Park Avenue. As a youth, he was the official photographer for souvenir postcards used by the local chain of Howard Johnson Restaurants. Later, he ran All-Occasion Photo from his Blasdell home.

He graduated from Lackawanna High School and later earned a business degree from the University of Buffalo.

Mr. Joynt worked for Insurance of North America and later Wassau Insurance Agency, relocating to Orlando in the late-1980s with his family. He was president of the Orlando Claims Association and a liability claims adjustor for the city when he retired in 2005.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, the former Barbara Fabisch, and two daughters, Kathleen Sengbusch, and Laureen Durant.
