>Two hurt as vehicles collide in Pike
PIKE -- Two drivers were injured when a car and a pickup truck collided about 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Route 39 and Water Street, according to state police.
State Police Sgt. Michael Hockey said Savannah Casselberry, 20, of Bliss, stopped at a stop sign on Water Street, but was hit on her driver's side door when she pulled out into Route 39.
The pickup truck was driven by Joshua Fitzpatrick, 23, of Dansville. The two vehicles spun around to a stop after the impact. Both drivers were alone and wearing their seat belts, Sgt. Hockey said.
Casselberry suffered hip and leg injuries and was taken by Pike Fire Department ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo. Fitzpatrick suffered bruised ribs and a possible broken finger and was taken by ambulance to Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw.
>Perry house fire causes $180,000 in damage
PERRY -- Wyoming County fire investigators are searching for the cause of a blaze that caused $180,000 damage to a one-story house here Sunday.
The fire was reported at 11:30 a.m. at 6749 Oatka Road, not long after the couple who lives there had left, said Perry Fire Chief Dennis Hewitt. The fire largely was confined to the porch and kitchen areas but caused significant smoke and water damage.
Firefighters from Perry Center, Warsaw, Wyoming, Castile and Silver Springs assisted a crew from Perry in battling the blaze.
