Lucinda "Cindy" O'Day died Friday in the Baltimore home of her son after a six-year battle with cancer. She was 58.
The former Lucinda Lods, who was born in Kenmore and lived in Amherst and Clarence Center after 1986, was comptroller for Milherst Construction Co. in Getzville for more than 25 years.
She married Paul O'Day in 1970, and they remained married for 24 years. She was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School and attended Alfred University.
She was an active member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Amherst, and was active in the church's mission.
Ms. O'Day also participated in several book clubs and enjoyed traveling in recent years, visiting Ireland, Italy and Thailand, among other destinations.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, she continued working and living on her own. She lived with her son, Michael, for a year before her death.
Survivors include another son, Patrick; a daughter, Jennifer Hunt; her father, Paul Lods; two brothers, Michael and Randy Lods; and two sisters, Judy Lods and Laurie Williams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:15 a.m. today in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1525 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Prayers will be at 8:30 in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda.
