Sister Mary Martiniana Budra, administrator at Brooklyn hospital Feb. 27, 1913 Jan. 25, 2007

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister Mary Martiniana Budra, who worked for 50 years as an administrator for a Brooklyn hospital, will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Convent Chapel, 5286 South Park Ave., Town of Hamburg.

Sister Martiniana died Thursday in Colette Hilbert Health Center, Town of Hamburg. She was 93.

The former Helen Budra was born in New Bedford, Mass., where she entered the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. She professed her final vows in 1947 and earned her bachelor's degree from St. John's University in Queens.

For more than 50 years, beginning in 1945, Sister Martiniana ministered at St. Mary's Hospital in Brooklyn, and was in charge of the admissions office. She was assistant executive director when she retired in 1995. The same year, Sister Martiniana moved to Immaculate Conception Convent.
