>Two house burglaries result in indictment

LITTLE VALLEY -- An East Randolph man has been charged with two house burglaries in a Cattaraugus County grand jury report.

Brock Tyrell, 29, was named in a report filed Thursday with Judge Larry M. Himelein.

Tyrell was indicted on charges of petit larceny and two counts of second-degree burglary. The crimes occurred March 24 and July 18 in Conewango.

Public Defender Mark S. Williams was named to defend Tyrell, who will be arraigned at a later date.


>Several charges linked to altered prescriptions

FREDONIA -- A Fredonia man is facing several charges following a monthlong investigation into altered prescriptions.

Gary Ortolano 45, of Sumner Place, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a forged instrument and forgery. Ortolano, who was arrested Wednesday, was being held in the Chautauqua County Jail.

The investigation involved the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the state Department of Health Narcotics Bureau.
