Eastern Michigan outscored the University at Buffalo, 13-2, over the last 4:27 and went on to a 69-56 victory over the Bulls in a Mid-American Conference women's basketball game in Ypsilanti, Mich.

UB (6-13, 1-6) led, 33-31, at halftime with 14 of the points coming from freshman Kourtney Brown. In the second half, though, Brown was held without a shot.

A layup by Sarah VanMetre gave the Eagles the lead, 56-54, with 4:27 to play. Eastern Michigan scored the last 11 points of the game as UB missed three shots and turned the ball over twice.

Stephanie Bennett led UB with 17 points. Jamie Schiebner had 11 points, while Heather Turner had 10 points with 11 rebounds.

Patrice McKinney had 30 points and 11 rebounds for Eastern Michigan (11-7, 6-1 MAC).

FOOTBALL: UB finished last in the Mid-American Conference in total offense and 10th in scoring last fall. Today, the Bulls are looking for a new offensive coordinator.

Head coach Turner Gill announced Wednesday that the contracts of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Gerald Carr have not been renewed.

Gill promoted assistant strength coach Ryan Groneman to head strength coach. Also, offensive graduate assistant Kevin Lynch resigned to pursue other opportunities.
