>Grading the Bears
Running game: A
Jones ran around tacklers and Benson ran through them. Duo combined for 183 yards. Ruben Brown led a dominant performance by the O-line.
Passing game: C-
Grossman was off target most of the game, but came up big on decisive TD drive. O-line didn't allow a sack.
Run defense: A
Urlacher and company were stout, but Saints gave them day off by running so few times.
Pass defense: B
Gave up 354 yards, but forced two turnovers and made key stops. Pass rush was effective with minimal blitzing.
bigcap,2,mdli,2 B B Dominated field position thanks to Maynard, who was Brian Moorman-like with three punts inside the 10. Coverage teams outstanding.
Stuck with running game and it paid off. One penalty and no turnovers a sign of a well-coached team.
>Grading the Saints
Running game: D
It was non-existent. McAllister didn't get the ball enough to do anything. Bush's 12-yard gain was longest run.
Passing game: B
Brees threw for more than 300 yards, but had two intentional grounding penalties, one resulting in a safety. Bush looked awesome on long TD.
Run defense: F
Got pushed off the ball. Rarely made plays in the backfield. Were gashed on cutback runs.
Pass defense: A
Gave up a 33-yard TD, but limited big plays. Could have used more pass rush.
Special teams: C
Coverage held Hester in check. Lewis had a costly fumble on a kickoff return. Cundiff missed 47-yard FG.
Twelve rushing attempts are unacceptable. Did they forget McAllister was on the team? Can't beat the Bears "D" with one-dimensional offense.
