>Grading the Colts

Running game: A

Addai ran hard and battled for yards. Rhodes gave a big spark off bench. O-line blocked well off tackle. Great job.

Passing game: A

A horrible start. INT was bad throw. But Peyton rebounded with big game. He was great in second half.

Run defense: C

The Colts got gashed in the first half. They couldn't catch runs from spread. But give smallish Ponies credit. They did better in second half.

Pass defense: B

Front four brought heat but could not stop Brady's three-step drops. Blitzes were burned early. Needed big play. Got INT at end.

Special teams: D

KO coverage unit ranked 30th this year and gave up 80- and 42-yard returns. Facemask on punt return set up Pats.

Coaching: A

Colts D adjusted and played harder in second half. Offense gashed Pats like no other team. This was a classic.

>Grading the Patriots

Running game: B

Pats used draws well to keep speed rushers in check. Dillon broke 35-yarder. Rushing got tougher in second half.

Passing game: A

Only Brady could make Caldwell-Gaffney combo look good at WR. Pats spread ball around beautifully.

Run defense: C

Wilfork is a beast in the middle, so Colts ran off the edges. Older LBs Bruschi and Vrabel did not fill holes quickly.

Pass defense: B-

Samuel's INT for TD was a great play. Pats CBs did decent job but safeties killed by Clark. Four-man rush could not pressure Manning.

Special teams: A

Gostkowski made FG from 43. Sauerbrun boomed key 58- and 59-yard punts. Hobbs had big returns.

Coaching: A

Belichick did great job with this team. Brady operated like a surgeon. But defense is not built for speed and got exposed.
