Two arraigned on drug counts

LOCKPORT -- Two Lockport residents were arraigned before Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza on Friday on charges of possessing cocaine with the intention of selling it.

Richard A. Doxey, 25, of Gooding Street, pleaded not guilty to third- and fourth-degree possession. He allegedly planned to sell .45 ounces of the drug in the City of Lockport on July 22.

Jodi Green, 25, of Sweetwood Drive, denied charges of third- and fifth-degree cocaine possession and unlawful possession of marijuana. She was arrested July 27 and accused of intending to sell 1.69 grams of cocaine.


Two teens accused of breaking into home

NEWFANE -- Two teens face charges after being caught breaking into a West Avenue home Friday morning, Niagara County sheriff's deputies said.

Bruce A. Cramer, 16, of King Street, and an unnamed 15-year-old juvenile boy were charged with second-degree burglary and petit larceny.

Chief Investigator Bruce Roth said the homeowner was awakened at about 5 a.m., when he confronted the intruders. The 15-year-old juvenile remained in the house until deputies arrived and the 16-year-old was found a short time later after police followed footprints in the snow.


Footprints lead to drug arrest'

NIAGARA FALLS -- An Allen Avenue man was charged with drug possession and resisting arrest after he ran from city police Friday.

Lamon C. Crumpler, 46, fled after being stopped for questioning at 2:40 a.m. in the 400 block of 19th Street. Police said they tracked him down by following his footprints.

Police said they found a pill believed to be hydrocodone and a clear plastic bag with white residue. Crumpler was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and loitering.


Medina man indicted in car stripping case

LOCKPORT -- A Niagara County grand jury handed up two indictments Thursday, one in a drug case and another in connection with alleged auto stripping.

Brandon Turrell, 23, of Ridge Road, Medina, is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance -- 0.82 ounces of crack cocaine -- and one count of growing cannabis.

He was arrested June 26 in his girlfriend's apartment on Lincoln Place in Lockport, where Niagara County sheriff's deputies checked out a call of a man having seizures. Their report said they found Turrell hiding in a closet and also found several bags of crack and about 15 marijuana plants growing in the laundry room.

Tremell R. Jordan Jr., 23, of Spruce Avenue, Niagara Falls, is charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He is accused of having more than $3,000 worth of auto parts at his home, removed from a reportedly stolen car between June 30 and July 12. Jordan previously was indicted on unrelated drug charges, a case that remains open.
