>Volunteers sought for school budget work
The budget process for the Tonawanda City School District has begun, but officials are looking for volunteers to join the district's budget advisory team for the next few months.
Volunteers would attend the district's evening budget work sessions twice a month. Along with the School Board, they would hear reports from school administrators outlining their own specific budgets and be allowed to ask questions.
The budget meetings will last until late April, when the board will conduct a public forum on the budget and adopt the 2007-08 spending plan soon afterward. The proposed budget will be put before local voters May 15.
Those interested in joining the team should contact Peter Michaelsen, assistant superintendent of finance, at 694-7690.
