Immunizations offered at two clinics next week

LOCKPORT -- The Niagara County Health Department has announced two public flu shot clinics for next week.

Immunizations will be available from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Wheatfield Community Center, 2790 Church Road, and from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan 19 in Wilson Middle School, 412 Lake St.

The shots are free to those who can show insurance cards, including Medicare Part B, and cost $25 for the uninsured. Credit cards will not be accepted.


Low bidders announced for contracts at prison

ALBION -- The New York State Office of General Services Thursday announced the apparent low bidders for Albion Correctional Facility work to repair and replace water tower stability rods and provide lightning protection.

Hohl Industrial Services of the Town of Tonawanda was the apparent low bidder out of two firms, at $62,899, for construction work.

Tunney Electric of Clarence Center, was the apparent low bidder of two firms, at $23,499, for electrical work.

They are among 11 contracts expected to be awarded on more than $4.9 million in projects in six counties.
