Man gets 12 years for 2005 robbery
MAYVILLE -- Kyle E. Miller, 26, of Westons Mills, was sentenced Monday in Cattaraugus County Court to 12 years in prison on his conviction of first-degree robbery by a county jury.
District Attorney Edward M. Sharkey said Miller, who was sentenced as a second felony offender, was also sentenced to a concurrent seven-year prison term for second-degree robbery. He will also be subject to a five-year period of post-release supervision when he is released from prison, where he will be required to serve the large majority of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
Sharkey said the robbery occurred Oct. 31, 2005, when Miller and two other defendants forcibly took money from the cash register at the UniMart on Wayne Street in the City of Olean by threatening the clerk with a knife.
Jamestown man held after vehicle crash
JAMESTOWN -- Police arrested a local man early Monday after his vehicle crashed against a tree along East Fifth Street.
Officers were called at 12:42 a.m. and found that someone had struck a tree and then fled on foot. Officers found Thomas Wolfe, no age or address given, a short distance away.
Wolfe was intoxicated and had a suspended driver's license, police said. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to keep right.
Car accident results in pot possession charge
KIANTONE -- A Jamestown man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after a motor vehicle accident over the weekend.
Sheriff's deputies said they found Nicholas Spencer, 26, of Ivy Street, unresponsive and bleeding when they checked his car on Route 62 just before 4 p.m. Saturday.
Deputies said Spencer apparently had some kind of medical problem and his car went off the road before going into a ditch. He was taken to WCA Hospital, Jamestown, for treatment.
Further investigation by deputies turned up the marijuana.
Spencer was issued appearance tickets for Kiantone Town Court.
Chautauqua Wanted List seeks man on DWI charge
MAYVILLE -- A new name has been added to the Chautauqua County Wanted List.
Ellicott town police are on the lookout for Darren Witherow, 38, of Catherine Way, Warren, Pa. He is wanted on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Arrest made in theft from driving range
ELBA -- A Darien man was charged with burglary and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle after he was allegedly seen fleeing from the scene of a Sunday morning burglary of an Elba golf facility, Genesee County sheriff's deputies reported.
Raymond E. Joseph, 31, of Tinkham Road, was apprehended by deputies not long after the 5 a.m. break-in at the Plum Creek driving range at 5141 Batavia-Elba Townline Road in Elba.
Deputy Eric Seppala found a vehicle parked near the range and a short time later found the building had been broken into.
Joseph was observed fleeing from the scene, deputies said.
Joseph was arraigned and held without bail pending a Jan. 17 appearance in Elba Town Court.
Woman's arrest follows dispute involving knife
ALLEGANY -- An Allegany woman faces multiple charges after she was accused of pulling a knife on a man during a domestic dispute Sunday afternoon, Cattaraugus County sheriff's deputies reported.
Jessica R. Clark, 25, of Buffalo Road, brandished the knife and then pushed and slapped the man several times shortly after 1 p.m., deputies said.
Clark was charged with menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, harassment and resisting arrest.
She was taken to Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail, pending an appearance in Allegany Town Court.
