Conference set

The Women's Ministry of Elim Christian Fellowship will present its 2007 Empowerment Conference, "Woman: The Crown of Gods Creation," from 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. on Jan. 20 in the Elim Christian Fellowship Worship Center, 70 Chalmers Ave. in Central Park Plaza.

The conference will feature keynote speaker, the Rev. Dr. Claudette A. Copeland, a Buffalo native who served as pastor and co-founder of the New Creation Christian Fellowship of San Antonio, Texas, for 19 years.

Cost of the conference is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Call 832-7698 for details.


Religion series begins

The world's major religions will be explored from noon to 1:30 p.m. beginning this Wednesday in Temple Beth Zion's Aaron and Bertha Broder Center for Jewish Education, 700 Sweet Home Road, Amherst.

The series will kick off with an examination of Judaism. The sessions run on Wednesdays through Feb. 14 and also feature studies of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism.
