Frog Hair, a golf simulation and practice facility in Williamsville, will hold its grand opening 4 p.m. to midnight today and 8 a.m. to midnight on Saturday.

Frog Hair, whose name refers to the short grass that surrounds a putting green, features eight stations that allow golfers to play simulated versions of famous courses, including Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill.

The facility also features the Grille restaurant, a bar and lounge, and will add golf practice facilities and a pro shop.

Frog Hair is located at 7800 Transit Road, just north of Sheridan Drive. Call 839-3764.


RUNNING: A meeting of race directors will be held Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Wendelville Fire Hall, 7340 Campbell Blvd., Getzville. Call John Beishline at 694-5154.

SWIMMING: The Amherst High School girls varsity team will host a swim clinic on Jan. 13, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Canisius College. Terry Laughlin, a noted coach, author and founder of Total Immersion Swimming, will lead the clinic covering the technical aspects of all four strokes. The course, open to swimmers of all ages as well as coaches, will be in the Koessler Center. Register at 834-5712.
