1. Sure, you can walk with penguins, but how about swimming with polar bears?
Take the plunge at 1 p.m. Sunday as the Polar Bear Swim rocks Silver Creek. Catch all the action shoreline, where a tent full of events includes: chili cook-off, Chinese auction and wine tasting. Look for Hideaway Bay on Lake Avenue, then follow the frenzy to the lake.
Proceeds will benefit Variety Club, Silver Creek Food Pantry and the Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Department. Free, but bring a canned good or two. Call 934-4442 for details.
2. Tour time! Line up at the grand dame of architecture, Shea's Performing Arts Center for two tours at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.
Each tour lasts about one hour and costs $8 for adults and $4 for children, students and seniors. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 847-1410, Ext. 184. Experience the beauty at 646 Main St.
3. Visit the new kid on the block at Aquarium of Niagara, where Jester the sea lion has chosen to spend his retirement. The 300-pound male joins three female sea lions. Aquarium hours are: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. Rates: $8, adults; $6.50, seniors; $5.50, children 4 to 12. Look for it at 701 Whirlpool St. in Niagara Falls. Call 285-3575 for information.
4. A Polish Open House is an event to enjoy.
Come learn about Polish folk dance, music and games, language and traditions in a family atmosphere at St. Gualberts/Kolbe School, 120 Alexander Ave. in Cheektowaga.
