>Sheriff administers oaths to two town officials
Two officials were sworn in during a meeting of the Wales Town Board last week.
Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard, who lives in Wales, administered oaths to Howard Lobaugh, recently elected town justice, and Gerald Klinck, who was appointed to the Town Board. Klinck will hold the seat vacated by Lobaugh.
In other matters:
* Public hearings were scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 on rezoning and special-use permit requests of Birch Grove Landscaping & Nursery, currently of Bennington. Jason Burford, Birch Grove president, wants to rezone 10 acres at 11724 Big Tree Road from agricultural to commercial to accommodate plans to move his business.
* The new Town Hall addition is expected to be finished by Jan. 9. The project, funded partially through a block grant of $75,000, will bring Town Hall into compliance with the American Disabilities Act.
