Robert E. "Bootsie" Williams, of Buffalo, died Friday in Erie County Medical Center. He was 24.
Mr. Williams was the victim of a shooting Thursday at West Delavan Avenue and Congress Street. Buffalo police are investigating.
A native of Buffalo, Mr. Williams was a lifelong East Side resident. He attended Emerson Vocational High School and later earned his general education diploma. In school, he was a wrestler and played football.
Mr. Williams planned to attend Trocaire College in the fall.
He is survived by two daughters, Natasha R. and Robert'nique R.; a son, Brandon T.; his mother, Annie C. of Buffalo; his father, Robert E. Sr. of Indianola, Miss.; a sister, Tacara R. of Buffalo; a brother, Tramel W. of Buffalo; and a grandmother, Bernice Dennis of Philadelphia.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in True Bethel Baptist Church, 907 E. Ferry St. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
