>Expenditures are up in district budget plan
FREDONIA -- A preliminary Fredonia Central School District budget for 2006-07 shows total expenditures of more than $26 million, or 5.98 percent more than last year.
Business administrator John Forbes presented the budget report at a Board of Education meeting Tuesday night and said the report reflects the early stages of the first draft. Changes will be made as more concrete figures are determined, he noted.
The draft shows instructional and non-instructional salaries totaling more than $12.1 million, an increase of more than half a million dollars. Employee benefits jump from $4.1 million to $4.4 million.
Equipment costs rise from $90,697 to $105,900; materials and supplies from $705,609 to $781,618; contractual expense from $2.8 million to $3.1 million; BOCES services from $1.9 million to almost $2.1 million; and debt service and interfund transfers rise from $3.1 million to $3.4 million.
