Ellen Cochran of Buffalo, who worked in housekeeping and child care, died Friday in St. Catherine Laboure Health Care Center after a lengthy illness. She was 83.
Born Ellen Davis in Alamo, Ga., she had lived in Buffalo since 1954. She worked as a housekeeper for various businesses and cared for the children of many prominent families in the area.
A member of St. John Baptist Church, she was a member of the Sunday School and the Missionary Ministry.
She was the widow of David Cochran.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah L. McDonald of Buffalo; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Wednesday in St. John Baptist Church, 184 Goodell St. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
