A Mass of Christian Burial for Rosalie Reding, of Lancaster, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary Catholic Church, 1 St. Mary's Hill, Lancaster. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She died Friday in her home after a long illness. She was 73.
Born Rosalie Darata in Buffalo, she earned a bachelor's degree in English at D'Youville College in 1954 and worked for the Erie County Department of Social Services during the 1950s.
Mrs. Reding was an activist for higher quality education for mentally challenged children and was a district representative for the Association for Children With Learning Disabilities.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 50 years, Donald E.; a daughter, Diane M. of Lancaster; four sons, David of Evergreen, Colo., Michael of Cleveland, Paul of Lockport and Donald of Williamsville; a brother, Peter Darata of Naperville, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
