Booth hired to direct marketing initiatives

JAMESTOWN -- Elizabeth Booth has been hired as group function and corporate business development coordinator for Chautauqua County, the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau and the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency announced.

Booth will spearhead the agencies' efforts to attract meetings, conferences and special events to the area and to promote Chautauqua County to corporate site selectors and companies looking to relocate or expand.

She most recently was executive director of the 1891 Fredonia Opera House, where her marketing initiatives helped increase theater attendance by more than 60 percent.

She is a member of the board of directors of the United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County and Chautauqua County Rural Ministries. Booth has been a marketing consultant for several businesses throughout the Northeast.

JCC opens nominations for 2006 alumni award

JAMESTOWN -- The Jamestown Community College Jamestown Campus Alumni Association invites community residents to submit nominations for the 2006 Distinguished Alumnus Award.

The award recognizes JCC alumni who have distinguished themselves in their careers and/or in service to their communities.

To receive a nomination form, call the alumni office at 665-5220, Ext. 2417, or print a copy of the form from JCC's Web site, www.sunyjcc.edu. All nominations are due March 24.

Nominations will be reviewed by representatives of the Alumni Association board of directors, and up to two awards will be presented at the college's commencement May 20.
