The Lady Mavericks are going to the Dance.
The Medaille women's basketball team earned its first NCAA Division III tournament appearance after winning the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference title, 76-59, over Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday afternoon.
It was the 17th straight win for Medaille, which improved to 25-1.
The game wasn't a breeze as Pitt-Greensburg (21-6) made it 52-51 midway through the second half. The Lady Mavs went back to what they do best -- pound the ball inside and score off offensive rebounds -- to regain control.
Sophomore Amanda Baker scored 25 points with 18 rebounds -- including seven offensive boards -- and was named the conference's Player of the Year for the second straight year.
Sophomore guard Amanda Walling added seven offensive rebounds for the Lady Mavs, while first-team all-conference selection Marisa Clark scored 18 points with 11 assists.
Brenlyn Campbell (Lewiston-Porter) added 12 points off the bench.
Medaille shot 47 percent from the field and held a 44-26 advantage in rebounds.
Medaille will find out late tonight or Monday morning who and where it will play in the NCAA Tournament.
Their game is scheduled for Wednesday.
