Roland W. Arnold, a retiree from the Harrison Radiator Division in Lockport, died Tuesday in The Waters of Gasport after a long illness. He was 84.
Mr. Arnold was born in Somerset and graduated from Barker High School. He moved to Johnson Creek after his marriage in 1941.
He worked as a sample maker at Harrison for 33 years and retired in 1977.
Mr. Arnold was a member of Jeddo Community Church, Masonic Lodge 787, the Hartland Historical Society and the Johnson Creek Senior Citizens. He enjoyed camping and was an avid sportsman.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Florence Metcalf; a son, Douglas of Franklinville; three daughters, Janice LaJoie, Jeanne O'Shea and Joann Barnett, all of Middleport; his stepmother, Barbara of Barker; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Jeddo Community Church, 10290 Ridge Road.
