Pearlene Washington, respiratory therapist

Pearlene Washington, a retired respiratory therapist, died Tuesday in Sisters Hospital following a long illness. She was 64.

Born in Manchester, Ga., she moved to Buffalo as a child. In 1967, she graduated from the Community College of Philadelphia.

She received a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University.

She moved back to Buffalo in 1992, after retirement from the Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia as a respiratory therapist. She had worked there since 1967.

A Baptist, she received a pastoral ministry degree from Christ the King Seminary, presented by Bishop Henry J. Mansell.

Surviving is her mother, Clara of Buffalo.

Funeral services will be held at noon Monday in Trinity Baptist Church, 2926 Bailey Ave. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
