A Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony M. Callara of Medina, a World War II veteran and retired Medina village employee, will be offered at noon today in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 211 Eagle St. Burial, with military honors, will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Callara died Wednesday in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo, after a long illness. He was 80.
The Medina native graduated from St. Mary's School.
He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 and was a member of Butts-Clark Post 204, American Legion.
He was employed by R.J. Rignal Co. and helped build the Niagara Power Project. He later worked in the Medina Public Works Department, retiring in 1988.
Mr. Callara was a former member of the Medina Auxiliary Police and a dispatcher for the Medina Fire Department.
His wife, the former Margaret A. Moltrup, died in 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Jeffery of Williamsville and Sandra Ridenour; a brother, Mario F. of Medina; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
