Born in Akron, Ohio, Mr. Hugill moved to the area when he was young and graduated from Lockport High School in 1961.
He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kent State University and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1967 to 1969.
Mr. Hugill owned and operated Davison Road Inn for 33 years, retiring in 2005.
An avid golfer, he was a member of the Lockport Town and Country Club and a winner of Junior Chamber of Commerce golf and tennis tournaments.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa; two sons, Christopher of Bradenton, Fla., and Kevin of Buffalo; a brother, Craig of Lockport; his mother, Ruth Y. of Lockport; and a granddaughter.
Services were held today in First Presbyterian Church.
Entombment was in Glenwood Mausoleum.
