Buffalo native Christina Abt, cookbook author and essayist, will give the program at the fourth in Immaculata Academy Alumnae Association's ongoing Distinguished Speaker Series at 7:30 p.m. March 8 in the school.
Her most recent book, "Chicken Wing Wisdom," is the story of 14 Western New York women who have used their wisdom and knowledge of food to change their lives, their communities and in some cases, the world. Favorite recipes of appetizers, desserts and ethnic dishes from each woman are included.
Abt's work has been published in a number of chicken soup books, including "Chicken Soup to Inspire the Woman's Soul," as well as Heartwarmer's book series and in local newspapers and magazines as well as on radio and CDs.
The event is free to the public, but reservations are required by March 6. Contact Mary Keough, alumnae director, at 649-6161, Ext. 155.
