Jerome F. Eveslage of Lancaster, owner-operator of a McDonald's restaurant in Cheektowaga, died Friday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a brief illness. He was 74.
Born in St. Cloud, Minn., he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Cloud State University and served in the Air Force for four years in the early 1950s. He worked for several years as a traveling sales representative for a furniture and home appliance retailer in Kansas City, Mo.
A resident of the Buffalo area since 1979, M. Eveslage had been owner and operator of the McDonald's restaurant at Union Road and George Urban Boulevard for 27 years.
Mr. Eveslage was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
He traveled extensively and enjoyed golf and fine dining. In his youth, he was a Golden Gloves boxer.
Surviving is a sister, LaVerne M. Meyers of Lakewood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gabriel Church, 5271 Clinton St., Elma. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Jamestown.
