Corine Parnell

Services for Corine Parnell, of Buffalo, will be at noon Tuesday in Friendship Baptist Church, 402 Clinton St. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.

Ms. Parnell died Thursday in her home. She was 85.

Born in Bessemer, Ala., she moved to Buffalo in 1942. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the McNeely Choir.

She also was a member of Queen of Sheba Chapter 4A, Order of the Eastern Star.

For 20 years, beginning in 1976, she served in the foster grandparent program at what is now Women and Children's Hospital.

Surviving are a daughter, Pearl Bennett of Buffalo; a great-niece she reared as a daughter, Jacquelyn Shah of Buffalo; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
