TAX ASSISTANCE: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance representatives will be at the SBLI USA Customer Center in Walden Galleria, Cheektowaga, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Friday, March 4, 10, 18 and 24, to help eligible Buffalo residents prepare their 2005 income tax returns. STUDENT ART SHOW: The Anderson Lee Library in Silver Creek is hosting an art show of works from students in grades six through 12 from Silver Creek Central School. The exhibit includes paintings, drawings, papier-mache, metal embossing, photography, sculpture and graphic arts designs. The show is open to the public and can be viewed during regular library hours. Works will be on display until March 15.

CLASS: Adoption STAR is hosting its annual baby care class designed for adoptive parents from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, at 47 Plaza Drive, Amherst. This class is open only to registered clients. To register call 639-3300.

ZOO LECTURE: Donna Fernandes, executive director of the Buffalo Zoo, will speak on "The Past and the Future of The Zoo" from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Buffalo Niagara Visitors Center, Market Arcade Building, 617 Main St. The talk is sponsored by the Landmark Society of the Niagara Frontier, and admission is free.

CARE FOR CAREGIVERS: Six-week courses to help caregivers learn such things as how to reduce stress and locate resources will be held in March at Millard Fillmore Hospital and Gilda's Club, both in Buffalo; the Schofield Residence in the Town of Tonawanda; and Hamburg Middle School. MASONIC EVENT: The Masonic War Veterans Post No. 10 will host a two-part event for the entire Masonic community of Western New York. A luncheon, with guest speaker former county executive Dennis Gorski, will be held at the 320 Masonic Service Center, 3279 Union Road, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the George Washington statue on Delaware Avenue in front of county hall in downtown Buffalo.
