A memorial service was held Saturday in Fort Myers, Fla., for former East Aurora resident Richard A. Blood.
Mr. Blood died Feb. 7 in his home in Fort Myers with his family at his side. He was 77.
He spent most of his life in East Aurora, moving to Florida 10 years ago.
Mr. Blood served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Joint Headquarters FEC Honor Guard, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and United Methodist Church. He served as a volunteer firefighter for 25 years.
He worked for National Fuel for 38 years, retiring in 1984 as manager of the Salamanca branch office.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, the former Patricia Wimett Stewart; two stepsons, Scott Stewart of Oneida and Larry Stewart of Orlando, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Pam Stewart of Fort Myers; a brother, Charles of East Aurora; and five grandchildren.
The service was held at Golfview Golf and Racquet Club on the grounds of the condominium complex in Fort Myers. Interment will be at a later date in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Canastota.
