There's a variety of great free music on tap this weekend, beginning tonight with the Ben Allison New Quartet. The News' Jeff Miers calls Allison's jazz "the real deal." Judge for yourself at 8 p.m. today in the Albright-Knox Art Gallery Auditorium, 1285 Elmwood Ave., when Allison's quartet plays as part of Gusto at the Gallery. And on Sunday the Buffalo Chamber Music Society presents Russian pianist Gleb Ivanov as part of the group's Gift to the Community series. He keeps busy with roles on TV and in the movies, has built an impressive collection of Chicano art and even has his own line of hot sauces.
