Napoleon Johnson of Buffalo, a retired employee of the Veterans Administration, died Sunday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center after an illness. He was 89.
Born in Madisonville, Texas, Mr. Johnson was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a truck driver in northern France.
He worked for 30 years in food service for the VA in Houston and Chicago before moving to Buffalo in 1970. He retired in 1980.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Grace Tabernacle Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his wife, the former Susie M. Lacey of Buffalo; three daughters, Dawna Capps-Evans of St. Paul, Minn., and Shawna Capps-Sherry and Gerilyn Capps, both of Orlando, Fla.; a son, David Richardson of Buffalo; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Grace Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 539 William St. Burial, with military honors, will be in Forest Lawn.
