NIAGARA FALLS -- Mary A. "Dolly" Alessi, of Niagara Falls, died Sunday in Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Services after a lengthy illness. She was 88.
She was born Mary Cichelli in Retsof and attended local schools. In 1937, she married Anthony Alessi.
They moved to Niagara Falls, where she worked for Kimberly-Clark Corp., retiring in the 1970s after 28 years there.
She was a member of the St. Joseph's Senior Society and the City Market Block Club in Niagara Falls. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and crocheting, particularly afghans.
Survivors include a daughter, Marlene A. Lampman of Louisville, Ky.; three brothers, Alex Cichelli and John Cichelli, both of Retsof, and Leo Cichelli of Wadsworth; two sisters, Nena LaGeorge and Lucy LaVerde, both of Mount Morris; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1413 Pine Ave., after prayers at 10 in Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
