John J. Noone of West Seneca, a retired teacher, died unexpectedly Monday in Galveston, Texas, where he was vacationing. He was 63.
Known as "Jack," Mr. Noone was born in Lackawanna and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Morehead State College in Kentucky and a master's degree in education from Canisius College. He was a teacher for 33 years in Buffalo Public Schools, teaching business at Lafayette High School.
Mr. Noone retired in 1998.
A medic in the Army Reserve, he was a member of Holland Country Club and Father Baker Council, Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Noone was a parishioner at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Winifred Manley; two daughters, Kathleen of Cheektowaga and Heather Jerabek of West Seneca; a sister, Linda Sharon of Boulder, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Martin of Tours Church, 1120 Abbott Road, after prayers at 10:15 in Norman E. Gannon & Sons Funeral Home, 1075 Ridge Road, Lackawanna. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.
